Between 25-28 April Save The World Club will be taking part in this year's City Nature Challenge (CNC) - and we encourage you to do the same.

The Kingston Biodiversity Network (KBN) are appealing for people - both individuals and organizations - to join in to help Kingston record even more wildlife than last year. The borough was one of the few south of the Thames to take part in 2024, and the KBN would like to do even better this year - so get involved!

The CNC is a fantastic annual four-day worldwide event, in which cities compete to see which one can gather the most observations of nature, find the most species, and get the most people to participate.

To take part, over the four days simply take a photo, assign a species ID and submit it. Your submission will then automatically be entered into the global, national and city-based

records and contribute to the challenge.

The CNC uses the iNaturalist app to record species - for the organization's website and to download their app, click here.

In 2023, nearly 500 cities participated, with more than 66,000 people making 1.9 million observations of nature during the challenge. In the UK the Bristol Natural History Consortium organises the national effort with the Natural History Museum focusing on London.

Keep up with the London City Nature Challenge here.

We'll have more for you on this soon!
