The Holy Cross School Charity of the year!

Today we’d like to give a huge #ThankYou to The Holy Cross School year 8 classes for choosing us to be their overall chosen charity of the year! An extra special thank you to Year 8 Peace class for selecting us as their class charity. We'd also like to give a big thank you to First Give who ran the competition and provided the wonderful prize of £1000 as a grant!

First Give:

First Give run a programme in secondary schools supporting young people to engage with local charities to raise awareness and campaign, with the students entered into a public speaking competition to stand up and speak out on issues that matter to them, in order to win a £1000 grant for their chosen class charity.

How the money will be spent:

Half the money will go towards fuel and expenses for food collections volunteers, to continue to do the amazing work they do supporting the reduction in food waste and cost of living support for those using our community fridge. The other half will be used for food staples in community kitchen, supporting people living in temporary accommodation, gaining better access to nutritious foods for those in need. Making sure every penny will go towards helping those who need it most.
