BIG NEWS FOR KINGSTON!
We are absolutely delighted to announce that Save The World Club has been awarded
£20,000 from the Mayor of London’s Green Roots Fund to deliver our new project:
Kingston Green Roots at Save The World Club.
Over the the course of 18 months, we will support many people from the local community to:
Grow healthy food
Cook affordable, nutritious meals
Learn gardening and sustainability skills
Build friendships and reduce loneliness
Improve well-being and mental health
The project will run across two local sites in our Community Garden at 18 Southsea Road
and the Kingston Orchard Project in Tolworth, bringing together residents of all ages and
backgrounds through food-growing, gardening and shared community meals.
The fruit and vegetables grown through the project will be used in our Community Kitchen,
where participants will learn how to cook healthy meals on a budget together. The
programme will also support the development of our new Save The World Community
Café --- Now called the Welcome Table Cafe — a warm, welcoming social hub offering low-cost meals, volunteering opportunities, training pathways and community connection.

Deputy Mayor for Environment and Energy, Mete Coban, said:
“Kingston Green Roots is a brilliant example of how the Green Roots Fund is supporting
community connections through the power of nature, growing and sustainability. We’re
proud to support projects like this to help empower local communities and build a greener,
fairer city.”
Our cooking classes, bookable now!
This funding forms part of the Mayor of London’s investment into greener, healthier and
more climate-resilient communities across London.
As the Mayor of London Sadiq Khan said:
“Everyone should have access to nature, which is why we’re empowering London’s
communities to transform their neighbourhoods through these new blue and green spaces.”
Together we are proving that:
✨ Food can bring people together
✨ Community can tackle loneliness
✨ Growing food can grow hope
✨ Small local action can change the world
Join us each Thursday from 2pm to 4pm in our 1000 sq ft Chalice Community Garden at 18
Southsea Road, Kingston, KT1 2EH and Sundays at the Kingston Orchard Project behind the Knollmead Allotments next to Knollmead Primary School in Tolworth for the next 3 weeks (9th July - 26th July) for our instructional food growing sessions.

These projects are all funded in full or in part by the Mayor of London.
Lastly, we want to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who has, and continues to support us — our volunteers, staff, donors, partners and local residents.
This project belongs to the whole community.
