We would like to thank Refugee Action Kingston (RAK) for coming to celebrate VE Day with us - everyone had a wonderful time!

RAK is a fantastic charity supporting people seeking sanctuary in the borough and surrounding areas to succeed as integrated members of the local community.

Since 1991, it has been the leading organization in the locality helping asylum seekers and refugees - specifically in such areas as: welfare advice, counselling and wellbeing support, community integration, English language teaching and employment guidance.

A couple of staff from the charity, along with a dozen of their clients, joined us in commemorating the 80th anniversary of the day by rolling up their sleeves and doing some baking - flapjacks, bread pudding, muffins and more!

It was also an opportunity to introduce those who are currently living in temporary accommodation and do not have access to cooking facilities to Save The World Club's community kitchen, letting them know the service is available to them.
