On Sunday August 18th Save The World Club held a fabulous live music fundraiser for the charity in collaboration with The Grey Horse’s Ram Jam Records - an event targeted at those unaware of who we are or what we do.
Approximately a hundred people attended and we raised more than £1000 to support our work in helping those in need throughout the borough of Kingston.
We would like to thank everyone who came and gave; as well as the bands who took part in supporting our cause, including: Clinton Fraiser, Blacklock & Brown, Emrys Baird and friends, Melissa Jo Heathcote, Dirt 3 Big Band, SLapPeR (yes, this is written correctly) and The Trudy Unplugged.
Moreover, a shout-out to Drew, the sound technician supplied by Ram Jam Records, for handling all the technical aspects so smoothly on the night.
We’d also like to thank all the volunteers who helped make the concert possible: Dave (for making stamps and stickers and taking care of entry), Marina (for contacting Ram Jam Records in the first place and running our raffle) and Tony (for coordinating the bands).
Lastly, a special mention to our very own Hugh, who ran the event and managed the project, which included keeping track of guests, taking donations, organizing the prize pool etc.
Considering how well it went and the positive response from Joy - the creative manager at Ram Jam Records - we may hold a similar bash in the future, which we hope would be even more successful!
