A Jolly Jam-boree

Everyone had lots of fun at our recent "Join us and Jam" event!

We were instructing people how to create conserve from scratch - attendees not only acquired a new skill, but also helped us to make as much jam as we could together for hampers to help those in need.

There was also a “jam” of another kind happening at the same time in our premier music

rehearsal room – the “Connect Studio” – as we welcomed performances of music, poetry

and more.

The event was a great success, with 38 visitors in total – 20 people for the jam-making and 18 for the music.

Moreover, between us we managed to make a total of 28 jars of jam – using bananas,

Mirabelle plums, rhubarb and summer berries (juneberries, blackberries, blackcurrants) -

towards the target of 100 we’re aiming to produce for this year’s “Christmas Hampers”

scheme.

People are welcome to join us for one or even both of our upcoming sessions as more local

fruit trees come into season. The next Join us and Jam event will be taking place on

Saturday 30 August - we hope to see you there! (See the next event on our website here)

Furthermore, if you're interested in using our Connect Studio, the space is open to anyone

to hire, with a charge of £20 per one-hour session (including a 15 minute set-up time).

Charities, social enterprises and community groups can get a discounted rate by asking

the STWC team.
